EUROPEAN WOMEN BIKERS' GATHERING
23rd-24th
August 2003
Varano
de' Melegari Autodrome (Parma) - Italy
organized by Motocicliste.net
There
are already over 300 women motorcyclists who, in just a few
days, have registered with the Third European Meeting
of Women Motorcyclists, organized by Motocicliste.net.
Even this year, the main meeting for the 3,000 women motorcyclists
registered with the site will be organized at the “R.
Paletti” Racetrack in Varano de’ Melegari (PR),
with the valuable support of BMW Motorrad Italy (the main
sponsor of the meeting) and Lottomatica.
However,
the meeting will also be an occasion to sum things up as regards
the context and the trend evolution of women motorcyclists.
The starting point will be the introduction of the
statistical
study
“A Motorcycle is for a Woman! Motorcyclists:
a new segment”
an analysis about the evolution of the motorcycle
market in Italy
as regards women.
Our job,
which is the result of four years of monitoring by Motorcicliste.net
through data collection, polls, etc., proposes itself as an
investigation on a large sample of women motorcyclists, and
represents a cross-section of a world which is still little
known and is growing rapidly. For the first time, a structured
and systematic study is made available that considers several
aspects of this two-wheel vehicle supplying with information
and reflection starting points about a phenomenon which is
expanding quickly.
The
study, carried out by the “Motocicliste”
Association with the contribution of BMW Motorrad Italy and
the participation of AirFrance, will be introduced
for the first time on August 23 at 3 p.m. in the press room
of the Varano de’ Melegari Racetrack.
The study
will be introduced by:
Paola Furlan, president of the “Motocicliste”
association
Beatrice Marani, data analyst
Diego Sgorbati, marketing and planning manager at
BMW Motorrad Italy, will also participate.
Hoping
to meet you in Varano, I am enclosing a summary of the subjects
